Real notes from a former SBA Team Lead. Plain English, no fluff.

The Foreman's Notes

Short takes from a former SBA Team Lead. Read them in any order.

  1. Note 01

Recall is a process, not a promise.

No one can guarantee SBA pulls a loan back from Treasury. What we can do is make the file boring to deny. A clean record, a clear narrative, the right authority cited in the right place. The rest is agency discretion.

  2. Note 02

    Treasury collects. SBA decides.

Borrowers confuse the two daily. Treasury Cross-Servicing handles the money. SBA owns the servicing decision. Disputing one when you mean the other is how cases die in the inbox.

  3. Note 03

    The packet is the argument.

Phone calls feel productive. They are not. The administrative record is what survives. Every page should answer a question a reviewer would otherwise have to ask.
