About SmallBiz Recon

An educational platform for SBA borrowers.

SmallBiz Recon™ helps small business owners understand and respond to SBA COVID EIDL servicing situations through education, DIY packages, document packaging, and structured guidance.

We help borrowers clearly identify their situation, organize the facts, and assemble request or dispute packages in a format that aligns with how SBA and related government agencies expect to receive them.

Our process is built around the borrower’s own words, documents, and available records. We take the information provided by the borrower, along with publicly available guidance and agency resources, and help organize it into clear, professional templates so the borrower’s voice is heard and their request is easier for the agency to review.

This may include DIY educational packages, request letter templates, supporting document checklists, and structured submission packets for COVID EIDL servicing issues such as Treasury referral disputes, SBA recall requests, payment assistance concerns, collateral matters, business changes, relocation issues, and other servicing-related requests.

We do not promise outcomes. We help borrowers understand the process, present the facts clearly, and submit organized materials that give the agency a better opportunity to understand the borrower’s dispute, request, or servicing concern.

Who we are and what we do.

What we are. What we are not.

We're upfront because the SBA borrower space is full of companies that aren't. Here is exactly what SmallBiz Recon is and is not.

What we are

Educational, experienced, and honest about scope. We tell you up front what we can and cannot help with.

Educational. Free guides, free consultations, free resources.

What we are not

Legal advice or representation.

For matters that require a licensed attorney, you need a licensed attorney. SmallBiz Recon is not one.

Represent clients in court or any legal proceeding
Create an attorney-client relationship through any of our services
Guarantee outcomes from SBA, Treasury, or any agency
Negotiate directly with federal agencies on behalf of borrowers
Provide tax, accounting, or financial advice
Overpromise. Period.
Take your money if we do not believe we can assist you
Why we exist

Built by people who worked the other side of the desk.

Most borrowers facing SBA Treasury referral don't know what their options are. The information that exists is fragmented, written for lawyers, or sold by companies that promise outcomes nobody can actually promise. SmallBiz Recon was built to fix that.

Our staff includes professionals with direct experience inside the SBA Servicing Department — Release of Collateral, Subordination, Relocation, Change in Ownership, Hardship Accommodation, and Fraud Review. We know how SBA evaluates incoming requests, what formats route correctly, and which procedural defects move a file. That experience shapes every guide we publish and every package we help organize.

None of that experience makes us attorneys. It makes us knowledgeable allies who can help you understand the process and prepare your documents the right way. The legal questions stay with the lawyers. The understanding and organization is what we do.

Our job is simple: help you submit a complete package that ensures your voice is heard — clear facts, the right attachments, routed to the desk that can actually act on it.

How we work.

Four principles guide everything we publish, every package we help organize, and every conversation we have with borrowers.

Education first.

Free guides, free consultations, free resources. Paid products exist for borrowers who want structured help — never as a barrier to the basics.

No guarantees.

We don't promise outcomes. SBA decides recall and dispute outcomes based on its own discretion and the facts of each file.

SOP-anchored.

Our packaging references SBA SOP 50 52 2 and the Debt Collection Improvement Act. No invented citations, no made-up regulations.

Real expertise.

Reviewed by professional SmallBiz Recon staff with direct SBA Servicing Department experience. No chatbots making decisions about your file.
